Julien Pettré

Brief Bio
Julien Pettré is a computer scientist. He is senior researcher at Inria, the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control. He is leading the VirtUs team at the Inria Center of Rennes. He received PhD from the University of Toulouse III in 2003, and Habilitation from the University of Rennes I in 2015. From 2004 to 2006, he was postdoctoral fellow at EPFL in Switzerland. He joined Inria in 2006.
Julien Pettré is coordinator of the European H2020 Fet Open CrowdDNA project (2020-2024), dedicated to future emergent technologies for crowd management in public spaces. He previously coordina
ted the European H2020 Crowdbot project (2018-21) dedicated to the design of robot navigation techniques for crowded environments, as well as the national ANR JCJC Percolation project (2013-17) dedicated to the design of new microscopic crowd simulation algorithms, and the national ANR CONTINT Chrome project, dedicated to efficient and designer-friendly techniques for crowd animation.
His research interests are crowd modeling and simulation, computer animation, virtual reality, robot navigation and motion planning.

Paul Richard is Associate Professor at University of Angers (France) since 2000. He received a M.S. degree and a PhD. in Robotics from the University Paris VI respectively in 1992 and 1996. Paul Richard leads the virtual reality research activities in the Laboratoire Angevin de Recherche en Ingénierie des Systèmes (LARIS) of the University of Angers. For almost two decades his research has focused on virtual reality, 3D interaction and human performance in virtual environments.

Lars Linsen is a Full Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany. He is also Adjunct Professor of Computational Science and Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering of the Jacobs University, Bremen, Germany. He received his academic degrees in Computer Science from the Universität Karlsruhe (TH), Germany, including a diploma in 1997 and a Ph.D. in 2001. After three years as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the University of California, Davis, U.S.A., and two years as an Assistant Profe
ssor at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald, Germany, he joined Jacobs University as an Associate Professor in 2006 and was appointed a Full Professor in 2012.
